Macedonia’s Boban Mojsovski leading at Vitebsk 2012

VITEBSK, 16 July (BelTA) – Boban Mojsovski of Macedonia is leading after the second day of the 21st international song contest Vitebsk 2012, BelTA has learned. On the second day of the contest the entries sang songs of Slavonic authors in Slavonic languages. The singers were accompanied by Mikhail Finberg’s National Concert Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus. After two contest days Boban Mojsovski scored 199 points out of 220. The Macedonian singer may collect this year’s Grand Prix. Samantha Tina of Latvia scored 197 points. Galina Konakh of Ukraine finished third with 192 points. Italy's Federica Marinari scored 187 points. Slavina Kalkandzieva of Bulgaria is in top five with 185 points. Belarus’ entry Yevgeny Slavich scored 183 points. He shared the seventh place with the singer from Armenia, Ruslan. Partaking in the 21st international song contest Vitebsk 2012 were 20 young singers from 20 countries. The contest’s jury was headed by People’s Artist of Russia Maxim Dunayevsky. Winners of the song contest will be awarded special prizes Lira and diplomas. The Grand Prix winner will get $15,000. The first, second, and third prizes are worth $9,000, $6,000, and $3,000 respectively. The award ceremony will take place at the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic on 16 July.
