Novopolotsk, Serbia’s Krusevac forge ties following Europa League match

VITEBSK, 29 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian town of Novopolotsk and Serbia’s Krusevac struck up a friendship following the Europa League match. The Serbian delegation is set to visit the Belarusian town soon to discuss cooperation prospects, BelTA learnt from chief of the ideology section of the Novopolotsk Town Executive Committee Yekaterina Baryshnikova. FC Naftan (Novopolotsk) played against Serbia’s FC Crvena Zvezda in the Europa League second qualifying round first leg match in Vitebsk on 19 July. The match was attended by Chairperson of the Novopolotsk Town Executive Committee Natalia Kochanova and representatives of the business community of Serbia. It was then that the parties decided to promote cultural and economic ties. Krusevac, an economic, administrative, industrial, cultural, educational and sports center of Rasina District of Serbia, stepped forward as a promising partner. On 1 December the Mayor of the city, his deputy and local businessmen are expected to come to Novopolotsk to meet with the Novopolotsk Mayor, discuss cooperation prospects and visit industrial companies of the town. Krusevac is an industrial city specializing in metalworking and chemical production. The local business is represented by the beverage factory Rubin and about 1,200 private companies. Novopolotsk maintains trade and economic ties with all the CIS member states and over 30 non-CIS countries. Long-term twin-town and partner relations were established with the cities and towns of Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, France and China.
