Slavonic Bazaar festival to begin in Vitebsk 11 July

VITEBSK, 11 July (BelTA) - The 22nd international arts festival Slavonic Bazaar opens in Vitebsk on 11 July, BelTA has learnt.

Partaking in the opening concert will be artists and art groups from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Denmark, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia and France. Stars and famous art groups will feature, too, including Anatoly Yarmolenko and the Syabry band, Inna Afanasyeva, Anzhelika Agurbash, Alyona Lanskaya, Edita Piekha, Nadezhda Babkina and the ensemble Russian Song, Alexander Malinin, Alexander Serov, Kristina Orbakaite, Yeleva Vayenga, Dima Bilan, Ilona Bronevitskaya, Metodie Bujor, Polina Gagarina, Stas Piekha, Tina Karol, winner of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest Emmelie de Forest (Denmark), Roza Rymbayeva (Kazakhstan) and Intars Busulis of Latvia.

A presentation of the participants of the 22nd International Pop Song Contest and the 11th International Junior Music Contest will be held during the opening ceremony of the Vitebsk festival.

The first day of the festival will feature an intensive program. After the opening ceremony media representatives will partake in a press conference with the organizers of the event. A star with People’s Artist of the USSR Edita Piekha’s name will be unveiled in a ceremony on 11 July, too. A special award of the President of Belarus “Through Art to Peace and Mutual Understanding” has been also bestowed on Edita Piekha. Journalists will be able to interview her at the international press center.

The second day of the children’s music contest Vitebsk 2013 will be also held on 11 July. The Russian folk instrumental band Terem Kvartet from St. Petersburg will present their program “25 Years Together.” The concert will be held at the Vitebsk Oblast Philharmonic.

The 22nd international arts festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk runs until 15 July.
