Vitebsk customs house takes measures to smooth travels for Euro 2012

VITEBSK, 8 June (BelTA) – The Vitebsk customs house has gone the extra mile to increase the throughput for the duration of the European football championship 2012, representatives of the customs house told BelTA. In view of the football championship and a possible increase in passenger traffic measures have been taken to rule out queues of cars and tourist buses in the Vitebsk customs house responsibility area. In particular, personnel reserves have been set aside to increase the number of shifts of customs personnel and customs representatives, the situation is closely monitored, additional conditions have been created to improve the quality and reduce the time required for examination operations. The customs service has established cooperation with the territorial border service body as well as the border service and the customs service in neighboring border checkpoints. Organizational and technical measures have been determined to ensure the highest throughput of individuals and carriers bound for the European football championships. Those, who encounter problems while crossing the border, are kindly requested to inform the on-duty customs officer (phone +375 212 350230), head of the Braslav customs post Sergei Korzhenko (+375-2153-31-226, border checkpoint Urbany), head of the Verkhnedvinsk customs post Vladimir Palchekh (+375-2151-57-303, border checkpoints Grigorovshchina and Bigosovo). The European football championship matches will take place in the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv, Kharkov, Lvov, and Donetsk as well as the Polish cities of Warsaw, Gdansk, Poznan, and Wroclaw.
