Gazprom intends to build multi-purpose center in Minsk

MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) - Gazprom wants to build a multi-purpose center in Minsk, OAO Gazprom Chairman of the Board Mr Alexei Miller told reporters after the meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA has learnt. Gazprom plans to bring together its ventures operating in Belarus under one roof. In particular we spoke about an opportunity to build a very large modern multifunctional business center which could also include health and fitness facilities, a hotel. These facilities will be open to residents of Minsk and Belarus,” said Mr Alexei Miller. Gazprom together with the Minsk City Council could start working on the architectural concept of this center. This should be the center that will beautify Minsk and meet all modern architectural and town-planning requirements, the head of Gazprom said. In addition, Mr Alexei Miller also spoke about the agreement on financing the construction of a multi-family house for large families. Gazprom will also, in cooperation with the Minsk City Council, finance the construction of the interchange on Independence Avenue. “I would like to say some words about the Moskovsky bus terminal, its upgrade. Gazprom is ready to invest heavily in this project. I am not going to reveal the sum but it is pretty big,” he said. “We have mapped out some really serious big plans relating to all areas of cooperation. These include the development of the gas transmission system in Belarus, the increase in transit through the country, and joint social projects,” Mr Alexei Miller added.
