The international scientific conference Minsk and Minskers: Ten Centuries of History will take place in the Belarusian capital city on 7-8 June, BelTA learned from the Minsk City Hall.
The forum is dedicated to the 950th anniversary of Minsk. It is organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), the History Institute of the NASB, the Minsk City Hall.
The conference will focus on a wide range of topics, namely ancient Minsk of the 11th - 13th centuries, Minsk in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, Minsk as the governorate center in the Russian Empire, Minsk in the period of wars and revolutions, Minsk as the capital of the BSSR and the Republic of Belarus, Renowned Minskers, the tourism potential of the Belarusian capital city.
The conference will be held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the run-up to Minsk Day which will be celebrated on 9 September this year. Applications can be submitted till 5 August. Organizers can provide visa support to foreign participants.
The working languages of the conference will be Belarusian, Russian, and Polish.
