Agriculture

Agriculture is the backbone of the region’s economy.

Agricultural companies specialize in cultivation of grain, potato, flax; milk and meat production.

Agricultural lands occupy 44,000 hectares, of them 22,000 hectares are arable lands, 260 hectares are orchards.

Some 1,600 people and 23 companies are involved in agricultural production. There are three agricultural production collectives, four communal unitary agricultural production companies, 13 farms, one strain-trial station in Lepel.
