Belarus is developing relations with African countries on all fronts, including the defense sector, Head of the International Military Cooperation Department, Aide for International Military Cooperation to the Belarusian Defense Minister Valery Revenko told the media, BelTA has learned.

On 12 September Valery Revenko gave a briefing at the Central House of Officers for the delegation of defense attaches of 14 African states, who are currently in Belarus on a working visit. The topic of the briefing was International Military Cooperation and the Military and Political Situation along Belarus' Borders.

Valery Revenko welcomed the defense attaches of African countries on behalf of the Belarusian defense minister. He emphasized that the development of relations with African countries was of great importance. “The Belarusian president emphasizes a special role and place of Africa in the modern world, the development of which is impossible without this continent,” Valery Revenko said.

He stressed the need to further develop relations between Belarus and African countries in all areas, including defense. “We are glad to welcome you all in our country. We have invited you here to show you the real Belarus,” Valery Revenko addressed the audience.

“Africa has a great potential. We need not only to convey to the representatives of the African continent what Belarus is, but also to consider what useful things we can do together. Belarus is a peaceful country, and our tolerant people do not have such diseases as racial intolerance. Besides, many representatives of the African continent studied here during the times of the Soviet Union,” he added.
