Belarusian PM touches down in Uzbekistan for working visit

Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko arrived in the Republic of Uzbekistan on a working visit, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian government delegation led by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko will attend a meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to the press service of the Belarusian government, Roman Golovchenko is scheduled to take part in the Uzbek-Belarusian business forum. The parties are set to consider promising areas for the development of Belarusian-Uzbek trade and economic cooperation, and to hold talks on cooperation in a variety of fields.

On behalf of Belarus the forum will be attended by more than 60 representatives of ministries and departments, concerns and enterprises that work in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, light and food industries, timber, pharmaceuticals, veterinary medicine, wholesale trade. Uzbekistan will be represented by about 200 representatives of the government and business. In 2022, the trade between the two countries amounted to more than $500 million.

The Belarusian delegation is also scheduled to tour enterprises in Samarkand. Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and his Uzbek counterpart Abdulla Aripov are expected to have a working meeting there.
