Belarusian State University intends to launch the second nano satellite this year, BelTA learned from Belarusian Education Minister Andrei Ivanets at a press conference on 17 January. 

Andrei Ivanets said: “We intend to present a new nano satellite at the expo Intellectual Belarus, which will take place in Minsk on 20-22 January. We expect the satellite to be launched this year. It will be the second nano satellite developed by Belarusian State University. Its components and opportunities for using it as part of the education process have been substantially changed. Specialists are trained for the space industry with assistance of nano satellites.” 

BelTA reported earlier that the first nano satellite BSUSat-1 of Belarus' education system was created by specialists of the Radio Physics and Computer Technologies Faculty of Belarusian State University with assistance of a number of other departments of the university. The satellite was successfully launched on 29 October 2018. The satellite is still operating in a near-Earth orbit. Its data can be received by the international community of radio enthusiasts. BSUSat-1 telemetry is beamed down and recorded in a database by over 150 receiving stations all over the world (tens of thousands of telemetry packages have been received). All the data Belarusian State University gets from the nano satellite is freely available on the Internet.
