Brest's satellite town to offer preferences to resident companies of sci-tech parks

13.01.2023

Resident companies of sci-tech parks will be given preferences in Zhabinka, a satellite town of Brest, Chairman of the Zhabinka District Executive Committee Andrei Kuzmich told a BelTA correspondent.

The Zhabinka District administration seeks to increase investment appeal of the district and create comfortable conditions for business. Certain types of legal entities can claim land tax and real estate tax benefits. New enterprises and organizations, as well as companies started by foreign investors can apply for a reduced property tax. The list of such companies includes manufacturers of innovative, import-substituting and export-oriented products, as well as businesses that have purchased idle buildings or structures, or isolated land plots. Zhabinka pays special attention to manufacturers of innovative products. First of all, this pertains to science and technology parks and their resident companies, technology transfer centers.

“There is a need to upgrade existing industries and create new, high-tech ones. Import-substituting industries and technologies are taking on new significance in the face of the sanctions. Resident companies of tech parks are able to address this problem. Therefore, we decided to offer more favorable conditions for doing business for them,” Andrei Kuzmich explained.
