The heads of the main consular departments of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Iran discussed visa facilitation and also the regular direct air service between the two countries, BelTA learned from the Iranian diplomatic mission in Minsk.

"In order to implement the agreements between Iran and Belarus on the direct air service, Mahan Airlines made the first test flight on the route Tehran - Minsk - Tehran and landed at the Minsk National Airport on April 18," the diplomatic mission said. “Since visa facilitation is important for regular air service, Consular Director General of Iran's Foreign Ministry Alireza Mahmoodi together with the Iranian ambassador to Belarus and a representative of Mahan Airlines held talks with the head of the main consular department of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Kozhan and representatives of the Border Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.”

"Emphasizing the will of the leaders of the two countries on the need to develop trade and economic relations and the role of direct flights in the development of this industry, the parties discussed considered ways of facilitating the visa issue procedure for citizens of the two countries, including businessmen, students and tourists," the Iranian diplomatic mission in Minsk stressed.
