Visit of Uzbekistan's MPs to Belarus seen as new impetus to bilateral cooperation

The visit of the parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan to Belarus will give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova said as she met with Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva on 5 September, BelTA has learned.

“We are ready for cooperation. I am sure that the things that we have planned to do during your official visit and the women's business forum will give a fresh impetus to our cooperation, our contacts. All the agreements that will be concluded today and tomorrow, as well as the existing contracts and memorandums will be put into practice. We will closely monitor their implementation,” said Natalya Kochanova.

The speaker noted that “we are true friends, and everything we do is in the best interests of our countries and peoples”. “I am sure that we will continue to cooperate through international organizations, through our youth and women's organizations. This is a powerful tool that can and will keep our countries united in the future,” Natalya Kochanova added.

The parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva is on an official visit to Belarus at the invitation of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus. The first Belarus-Uzbekistan Women's Business Forum is taking place during the visit. Six breakout sessions are scheduled for 5 September: “Expansion of Belarus-Uzbekistan cooperation in manufacturing”, “Promising avenues of cooperation in light industry”, “Building closer partnerships between agro-industrial complexes of Belarus and Uzbekistan”, “Healthcare and pharmaceutics - promising areas of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “Academic partnerships”, “Contacts in culture and tourism”.

The highlight of the business forum on 6 September will be a plenary session “Women entrepreneurs - the potential for developing business contacts between Belarus and Uzbekistan”.

The forum was organized by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.
