Lukashenko sends Independence Day greetings to Cote d'Ivoire

08.08.2023

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Cote d'Ivoire President Alassane Dramane Ouattara as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.

This day celebrates all those who fought against forced labor and colonial oppression for independence of the state, the Belarusian leader noted. He emphasized Belarus' interest in promoting bilateral relations with Cote d'Ivoire based on the principles of friendship, respect and trust.

According to the head of state, the economies of the two countries are complementary. Belarus is one of the world's largest producers of agricultural machinery, while agriculture is the mainstay of Cote d'Ivoire's economy. Thus, Belarus can contribute to the food security of Cote d'Ivoire by supplying it with equipment, technologies and fertilizers. The president noted that Belarus is ready to discuss cooperation in other areas, including the import of cocoa, fruits, and nuts to Belarus.

“I am convinced that by joint efforts we will be able to build fruitful bilateral cooperation for the benefit of our peoples,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Alassane Dramane Ouattara, his family and all the people of this country good health and happiness. “Let Cote d'Ivoire grow stronger and more prosperous,” the president added.
