Ambassador: Belarusian products are very popular in Uzbekistan
Belarus plays an important role in ensuring food security in Uzbekistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov said during a roundtable "Uzbekistan and Belarus, a time-tested partnership" in BelTA’s press center.
The diplomat said that thanks to joint efforts, mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Belarus reached a record high level of $500,000 in 2022. At that time, bilateral trade amounted to $536 million, which represented an increase of 44% over 2021.
In 2023, mutual trade rose by another 15% from 2022 and totaled $620 million.
The ambassador believes that now it is time to press forward the $1 billion mark in mutual trade. This target has been set by the leaders of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
