Belarusian PM visits Belarus' exposition at VDNKh in Moscow

Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko toured the new exposition in the Pavilion of the Republic of Belarus at VDNKh after a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council in Moscow on 18 December, BelTA has learned.

The heads of government of the CIS member states met at VDNKh to see the Russia International Exhibition and Forum. Belarus Pavilion is also an active participant in this large-scale event, so it was quite logical that Roman Golovchenko went to see it after the CIS summit.

The exposition in Belarus Pavilion was updated for the Russia forum. Now it houses the Intellectual Belarus expo in miniature featuring the achievements of Belarusian academic and university science. As Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi told the prime minister, from 11 January next year, Belarus Pavilion will again undergo changes. It will showcase Belarusian regions, their achievements in the economy, industry, agriculture, culture and sport. An exposition will be put together to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

Roman Golovchenko also toured several booths featuring Belarusian consumer products. The permanent exhibition-fair of Belarusian goods occupies over 1,000 m2. Some 90% of the exhibition space features light industry products, the rest - food products. The prime minister asked which groups of Belarusian goods are in the greatest demand among visitors to VDNKh. So, in terms of revenue food products go first, footwear - second, cosmetics and light industry goods - third.

The Belarusian head of government also saw an installation of the National Library of Belarus made of a potash ore monolith, a mock-up of the Belarusian NPP, a wooden house made of environmentally friendly materials with a photo zone and an interactive exposition of Belarus' tourism capabilities. Since 4 November, the tourism exposition has drawn about 90,000 people who showed interested in Belarusian health resorts and recreation places.

Roman Golovchenko toured the open-air part of the Belarusian exhibition featuring a BelAZ-7558 rock hauler with a carrying capacity of 90 tonnes, a Gomselmash combine harvester with a corn reaper, a BELARUS-622 tractor, a Amkodor-211 loader and a BelGee car.
