Ceremony to honor Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Mirenkov in Minsk
A ceremony to honor Hero of the Soviet Union tanker Ivan Mirenkov and to mark the Tankmen Day was held in Minsk. Participants of the event laid flowers and honored the memory of the famous Soviet tankman. Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Mirenkov lived in Minsk after the war and was buried in the Vostochnoye cemetery in Minsk. During the Great Patriotic War he participated in the liberation of Czechoslovakia. Radek Garasta, head of the military history club of the Czech town of Starovičky, came to honor the memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union.
