Three little kids saved by unique surgeries performed by Belarusian medics

Their destiny is to live. The Belarusian doctors saved the children, performing the most complicated and often the first operations of this kind.

Little Dima was the first in the country to undergo surgery with the diagnosis of "dilated cardiomyopathy" - myocardial dysfunction, which leads to heart failure. A year ago his health deteriorated sharply, shortness of breath appeared, and his weight of 15 kg did not increase.

Tatyana Gorbach, Dima's mom:

“Now everything is fine, he is back, you can say, in the direction in which he was before the operation. Everything is good, he is running, developing.”

The boy is already seven, he still has to have a heart transplant - doctors are waiting for the guy to gain more than 30 kg. And only the backpack behind his back reminds him of the operation. There he has a device that allows him to live in peace.

The Belarusian doctors co-worked their Turkish colleagues, on a similar case and operated on 4-year-old Ulyana. Her weight reached 13 kg.

Konstantin Drozdovsky, director of the Russian National Pediatric Surgery Center:

“To do this we had to place the device partially instead of the left lung, because the device did not fit anywhere else.”

These stories are about the impossible and a real miracle. In these images, the baby is only 14 days old, she does not weigh two kilograms. Stenotrachea, which was formed with a diameter of a millimeter, did not allow to breathe. Such a defect is simply incompatible with life, in addition, she was born with pneumonia. The surgeons did everything they could. Now she is alive and breathing.
